Hi there! I’m Tiffany Gaston, founder of Mother Nurture Composting Services. I have a large family, and have always been crunchy adjacent. I want to know that I'm doing my best to minimize the harm that our actions have on ourselves and the environment. I buy organic produce when I can, try to reduce single use plastic waste, but I also love the convenience of a good ol' paper towel. Sustainability and convenience are important in my life and are what led me to starting Mother Nurture.​

Composting has always intrigued me, though I’ll admit my early attempts were…“experimental.” A cute countertop compost bin, food scraps piling up, and a well-intentioned plan to turn the compost in the garden. Fast-forward a few weeks, and reality would set in—kids, work, life. I’d realize I didn’t have the time or know-how to compost the right way. Still, the idea of reducing our family’s environmental footprint stayed with me.

When I learned about curbside compost pickup services in places like Pennsylvania and northern Delaware, I couldn’t help but wonder: why doesn’t Central Delaware have something like this? That question planted the seed, and by June 2024, Mother Nurture Composting Services was born.

Starting this business has been a rollercoaster of learning experiences. My mission is simple: to help our community take small steps that collectively make a big impact—like reducing methane emissions from landfills. It’s amazing how something as simple as composting can make such a difference for our planet.

Right now, you’ll find me driving the truck, picking up bins, and figuring out ways to make this process smoother and more efficient. As Mother Nurture grows, so will our capabilities, but for now, I’m thrilled to be on this journey with you.
